It's good to be back!

By Camila Rodrigues - World Wise 1

I always missed the English classes I had as a teenager. Learning a new language makes me feel ready to travel the world and be able to understand the people. My job and the experiences that I had recently made me go back to school.

The teacher is different, the students, the place... Everything looks different! But it seems that I never stopped! The jokes are the same, the fear of writing texts didn’t change. But the desire to learn and be better it's even bigger now.

I hope that my plans for the future can be realized and all the new things that I'm learning might lead me to tread a beautiful journey to success. It's good to be back!

Hello! My name’s Laís Souza. I’m 22 years old and I’m Brazilian, from Campina Grande. I live with my mother and brother in a small house, but I have a big family with eight uncles and two aunts. We don´t have a pet, but we usually feed the birds in our garden.

I’m a student in a Law University and I work in a Law Office too. On Saturdays, I study English at Cultura Inglesa. I’m learning a lot but I still don’t speak very well.

At the weekends, I usually go to the church or stay at home, reading and studying. I go out with my friends too. We go to the cinema, restaurant or just stay together watching a DVD. We always make popcorn!

I don’t smoke; I don’t like coffee and I HATE nightclubs. But I like films and especially books. Now, I’m reading “Eleanor and Park”, by Rainbow Rowell. It’s very good.

A Busy Man

Every day, when I arrive at work, I find my boss sitting in his chair. He always gets up at 6:00 a.m. and goes jogging before breakfast. At 7:30 a.m, he leaves home and goes to his Law Office, where he has a lot of things to do. He is always working with different documents and sometimes has just a small lunch.

In the afternoon, he usually has a meeting with his clients and works reading and writing something new. He is ALWAYS with paper in his hands. At 3:30 p.m., he has a snack and talks about books, films and music. I love the stories about his trips. They´re very funny. His mobile phone rings all afternoon and he sometimes works late reading the cases and preparing new documents.

He gets home at 9:00 p.m. and has a shower but he doesn´t go to bed. He prefers to watch a good film on TV. At the weekends, he plays handball with his friends and travels to João Pessoa or Recife. He doesn´t usually stay in Campina Grande on Saturdays and Sundays because he likes the beach. He has a girlfriend and always spends time with his family, watching DVDs, talking about their lives and travelling to other countries. He speaks French and Spanish very well!

My boss is not a quiet man. He does a lot of things and he likes to live like this. He says that he loves to be a lawyer, meet new people and go to different places. He is a very busy man but he doesn´t want to change his life.
